Aragon AI alternatives for professional headshots

Aragon AI (aragon.ai) is an AI headshot generator that turns a few uploaded selfies into packs of up to 100 headshots, and now also sells an image generator, AI Chat, editing tools and video by subscription. People look elsewhere because Basic and Standard headshots come at 896 x 1088 pixels, refunds depend on not downloading your photos, and the Basic pack allows 1 attire and 1 background. HeadshotPro fits the lowest one-time price, BetterPic fits 4K headshots on every pack, Photo AI fits an ongoing personal model, and Facetune and Gemini fit editing your own photo on a phone. ImageQuarry is a general image workspace, not a headshot service.

We make ImageQuarry, one of the alternatives below. Aragon AI and each alternative were compared on headshot packs, image size, refund terms, editing after delivery, how you start and price, using each vendor's public pages, checked October 20, 2026.

What is Aragon AI?

Aragon calls itself "The Leading AI Headshot Generator" and promises to "Turn your selfies into studio-quality headshots in 30 minutes." You select attire and backgrounds, upload a few photos of yourself, and then view, edit and download your favorites from a pack of up to 100. Around the headshots it now sells a text to image generator, AI Chat with Prompt Assist, one-job AI Editor tools such as Clothing Changer and Background Changer, and AI Video, on the web and in Apple apps.

Aragon's headshot packs are one-time purchases, while its image generator, AI Chat and editing tools sit in separate monthly subscriptions.

What Aragon AI does well

A large pack in under an hour

Aragon promises headshots in 30 minutes, with up to 100 high-quality headshots in a pack; even the Basic pack lists 45 minutes of generation.

Broad use of the results

The pricing FAQ says your photos are "yours to use however you'd like, including social media, professional profiles, print, and personal use", and generator images can be used for commercial projects.

Editing tools for one job each

The AI Editor includes a Clothing Changer, Background Changer, Pose Editor, Hair Style Editor, Unblur, Magic Eraser and Photo Restoration, with Camera Angles and glasses try-on added in 2026.

Help writing prompts

Prompt Assist in AI Chat writes a prompt for you from an empty box, a rough draft or an uploaded image, and you can change one detail for a variation.

Apps and an API for teams

Aragon runs on the web and in an iOS and iPadOS app that is also listed for Apple silicon Macs, and teams get "Integrations & API" connecting to over 8,000 apps.

Where Aragon AI falls short

Smaller images on the two cheaper packs

Aragon says Basic and Standard photos are 896 x 1088 pixels; only Executive is upgraded to 1792 x 2176.

Refunds depend on not downloading

A refund is given if you "haven't downloaded or aren't planning on downloading your photos"; otherwise it is case by case, with a Free Redo through support.

Few looks on the Basic pack

Basic allows 1 attire and 1 background, and Standard 2 of each; all attires and backgrounds need the $75 Executive pack.

Subscription contents are not spelled out

The pricing page's structured data lists Lite, Pro, Ultimate and Creator subscriptions from $15 to $249 a month, but what each includes was not in the page text.

The free allowance is not stated

A free headshot generator page is linked and the image generator is billed as "for free", but no free amount is given on the pages read.

Why people look for a Aragon AI alternative

  • You want headshots for a lower one-time price than Aragon's $35 Basic pack.
  • You need larger files than 896 x 1088 pixels without paying $75 for the Executive pack.
  • You want a refund policy that does not hinge on whether you downloaded the photos.
  • You want to try something at no cost first, and Aragon does not say how much its free generator gives you.

The 6 Aragon AI alternatives

Ordered by how directly each gives you professional headshots against the reasons above: one-time headshot services first (lowest price, then highest resolution), then a subscription that keeps a model of you, then phone and assistant tools that edit a photo you already have, and last a general workspace that is not a headshot service.

1. HeadshotPro

Best for: Getting a business headshot set for the lowest one-time price

How it differs from Aragon AI: HeadshotPro works the same way as Aragon's packs (upload selfies, pick styles or let it choose, download), and its Basic pack is $29 for 30 headshots with 6 edit credits. Its Professional and Executive packs include a free redo within 14 days, and its Terms license the service for personal and commercial use.

Price: Basic $29 one-time for 30 headshots (as of 2026-10)

Limitation: There is no free-form prompting, and edits are limited to things like backdrops, outfits and blemishes; the 4K upscale is on the $59 Executive pack only.

2. BetterPic

Best for: People who want 4K headshots without buying the top pack

How it differs from Aragon AI: BetterPic's Basic pack at $35 is the same price as Aragon's Basic, but its 20 headshots come in 4K, and it states complete ownership with a full commercial licence. After delivery its AI Studio changes backgrounds and clothing, and human editors take written requests at $8 each.

Price: Basic $35 one-time for 20 headshots in 4K (as of 2026-10)

Limitation: Refunds are only possible before training starts, and the Basic pack has 1 style and 2 AI Edits.

3. Photo AI

Best for: People who want a steady supply of new photos of themselves, not one pack

How it differs from Aragon AI: Photo AI trains a personal model from 5 to 15 of your photos and keeps generating new shots of you from prompts and themed packs, instead of one delivery. Magic Edit then changes any photo from typed text, such as "Make it sunset on the beach".

Price: Starter $19 a month billed monthly; commercial license from Pro at $49 (as of 2026-10)

Limitation: No free plan or trial is listed on its pricing page, and Starter is for personal use only.

4. Facetune

Best for: Polishing a photo you already like into a headshot on your phone

How it differs from Aragon AI: Facetune starts from your own photo rather than training on a set of selfies. Its app lists an AI Headshots tool that turns any photo into a professional headshot, next to retouching, reshaping, hairstyles and an AI assistant that edits from simple prompts, on iPhone, Android and the web.

Price: 7-day trial; $25 a month billed monthly, or $77.99 a year (as of 2026-10)

Limitation: No resolution, export format or commercial-use statement was found on its pages, and you must cancel 48 hours before renewal to avoid a charge.

5. Gemini

Best for: Trying a new background or outfit on your own photo before paying anyone

How it differs from Aragon AI: Gemini edits a photo you upload when you ask, for example to change the background or replace an object. Google's $0 plan includes image generation and editing, and it runs on the web, Android and iPhone.

Price: $0 plan; Google AI Plus $4.99 a month (as of 2026-10)

Limitation: Results carry a visible watermark as well as SynthID, downloads are 1K without a paid plan, and you must be 18 or over.

6. ImageQuarry

Best for: Portrait and editorial concepts directed one change at a time from an uploaded image

How it differs from Aragon AI: Aragon produces a finished pack of headshots from your selfies in the attire and backgrounds you choose. ImageQuarry works on one image at a time: you upload it, ask in words for a change such as a plainer background or softer light, and say what to keep, like the face and the crop. Each result is a new version, so you can compare them and download the one you prefer.

Price: Starter $9 or Pro $29, monthly (as of 2026-10)

Limitation: ImageQuarry is not a headshot service and delivers no headshot packs, every plan is paid, and it has no published Terms or rights policy yet.

Who should stay with Aragon AI

  • You want up to 100 headshots with every attire and background, which the Executive pack gives in about 15 minutes.
  • You use Aragon's other tools too, such as the Clothing Changer, AI Chat with Prompt Assist and AI Video, and want them in one account.
  • You order headshots for a team and want Aragon's team pricing with integrations and an API.
  • You prefer an iPhone, iPad or Mac app, which Aragon lists on the App Store.

How to switch from Aragon AI to another headshot tool

  1. Download the headshots you want to keep from your Aragon gallery, and note which attire and background choices you liked.
  2. Keep the selfies you uploaded to Aragon, and add a few more varied ones: BetterPic, for example, asks for 8 to 12 photos.
  3. Check the new service's refund terms before you upload, since BetterPic refunds only before training starts.
  4. Order the smallest pack first and compare the results with your Aragon set at the size you will use them, such as a profile photo or print.
  5. If your company buys headshots in bulk, compare team pricing separately, as Aragon, HeadshotPro and BetterPic each list it on its own tab or section.

Does not carry over: Your Aragon gallery, Creator Profile and any subscription credits stay in your Aragon account; a new service needs your selfies again.

How does ImageQuarry compare with Aragon AI?

Aragon is a headshot service. ImageQuarry is not: it is a general creative workspace for portrait and editorial concepts, product images and more, where you upload an image, describe a change and keep every version, on plans at $9 and $29 a month.

Create an image. Edit it with words. Keep refining.

Direct a portrait concept change by change

Upload the image, say what to keep and what to change, and pick the version you like best.
