Question

Why does text in AI images come out misspelled?

Because image models draw letters as shapes instead of typing them, so precise spelling and placement are still a known weak spot. OpenAI lists text placement and clarity as a limitation. Keep text short and quoted in the request, or add it later in a design tool.

A model learns what text looks like from images, not the spelling of each word, so it can produce letters that look right at a glance and fail on close reading. Long passages, small type and unusual words are the most likely to go wrong.

Newer models handle short text better than earlier ones, but none is reliable for exact spelling, so check every letter before you publish.

Practical rule: for a short headline, put the exact words in quotes and say where they go; for long copy, prices, legal lines or brand type, leave clear space in the image and set the text in a design tool where spelling is exact.

In ImageQuarry, if one word comes out wrong you can ask for just that word to be corrected and say what to keep, then review the new version against the earlier one.
