ImageQuarry vs fal: an image app or a model inference platform

fal is a developer platform: you call more than 1,000 image, video, audio and 3D models through one API and pay per output, with serverless GPUs for your own deployments. ImageQuarry is an app for people making images: describe or upload one, ask for changes in words, and keep every version in projects. Choose fal if you are building a product and want model choice and usage-based billing. Choose ImageQuarry if you want to create and refine images yourself in a ready workspace.

We make ImageQuarry. We compared it with fal using fal's own public pages, checked October 20, 2026, and say where fal does more.

ImageQuarry and fal: the differences that matter

Breadth of models

fal hosts more than 1,000 models, and its Sandbox lets developers "compare models side-by-side" before choosing one. ImageQuarry offers four image models.

Per-output prices

fal prices each model separately, for example Nano Banana Pro at $0.15 per image and FLUX 2 at $0.012 per megapixel, as of October 2026, with no subscription. ImageQuarry plans are monthly, with optional metered overage that is off unless you turn it on.

A workspace for the person, not the code

In ImageQuarry, versions live together with their prompts, references and conversation, and you compare, choose and download. fal returns files from its CDN, kept for at least 7 days by default, to your application.

Licensing by model

fal says each model has its own license, with commercial-use badges on model pages and research-only models marked. ImageQuarry has not published rights terms.

Utilities without an account

fal offers browser tools such as a background remover, upscaler and image extender with "No account, no watermark". Those utilities are outside what ImageQuarry lists.

ImageQuarry vs fal, side by side

Checked against fal's public pages on October 20, 2026. "Not stated" means the pages we read do not say; it is not a claim that the feature is missing. "Not published" means ImageQuarry has not published that detail.

About each product

ImageQuarry

ImageQuarry is a conversational AI image workspace. You describe an image or upload one, then ask for specific changes in words, such as new lighting, a different background or an added object. Each change makes a new version and earlier versions are kept, so you can make variations, branch from any version, add reference images and organize the work in projects and a library. You can choose between four image models: Nano Banana 2.1 (the default), Nano Banana Pro, GPT Image 2.5 Flare and GPT Image 2.5 Sunburst. Plans: Starter at $9 per month with 100 image credits a month, and Pro at $29 per month with 300 image credits a month, with optional metered overage that is off unless you turn it on. Every plan is paid. ImageQuarry has not published output specifications or rights terms yet, and it is not a headshot or background removal tool.
