MyEdit alternatives for editing photos by chat with a history

MyEdit is CyberLink's browser suite of photo, video and audio tools, and its Edit by Chat tool changes a photo when you type what you want, using Nano Banana or Flux. The overlap with ImageQuarry is that chat editing plus MyEdit's AI image generator; the rest of MyEdit (video, audio, face swap, try on) is a different job. People look elsewhere because the Edit by Chat page describes no version history and the generator FAQ says exports are JPG. Pixlr is the nearest swap with a 10-version edit history, Picsart offers 65 models, and Fotor exports PNG and PDF. ImageQuarry suits people who want every chat change saved as a version they can branch from.

We make ImageQuarry, one of the alternatives below. MyEdit and each alternative were compared on editing in words, edit history, model choice, export formats, extra tools and price, using each vendor's public pages, checked October 20, 2026.

What is MyEdit?

MyEdit runs in the browser and comes from CyberLink, whose name sits in the footer of every tool page. Edit by Chat is described as a tool "that lets you modify photos simply by chatting with AI", and a smart brush can limit a change to one highlighted area. Its AI Image Generator lists more than a dozen models, GPT Image 2.5 and Nano Banana Pro among them, takes a reference image for style or likeness, and sits beside background removal, an upscaler, face swap, try on and image to video.

MyEdit is a multi-tool suite where chat editing is one tool among many, so for this page only its generator and Edit by Chat count as the overlapping job.

MyEdit pricing

What MyEdit does well

Edit a photo by chatting

Edit by Chat takes a typed request, offers Nano Banana for quick passes and Flux for high fidelity work, and a smart brush can keep the change inside a selected area while the rest of the photo is preserved.

A generator with many models and references

The AI Image Generator names GPT Image 2.5, Nano Banana Pro and Seedance Pro, its FAQ counts more than a dozen models, and you can add a reference image to steer style or likeness at up to 4K.

Plain usage terms, no watermark on generations

MyEdit's generator page says your images "are yours to use for marketing, ads, social posts, and client work" and that each one downloads without a MyEdit watermark. The business site adds that commercial use is included as long as you hold rights to what you upload.

Many photo tools in one account

Next to chat editing it lists Background Removal, AI Product Background, Image Upscaler, AI Extender, AI Replace, AI Removal, AI Headshot, AI Face Swap, AI Try On and Image to Video.

Browser, iOS and Android

MyEdit works in desktop and mobile browsers, and its generator page says it is also available on iOS and Android.

Where MyEdit falls short

No edit history described

The Edit by Chat page explains region selection and uploads (JPG, PNG, GIF, WebP and BMP up to 50 MB) but says nothing about saving earlier versions of an edit.

Exports are JPG

The generator FAQ says exports are JPG, so a transparent PNG is not listed as an output on that page.

Two models in the chat editor

Edit by Chat names only Nano Banana and Flux, even though the generator lists more than a dozen models.

Model names do not agree on one page

The generator page names GPT Image 2.5 in one place and tells you to "Pick GPT-Image-2 for accurate prompt following" in another, so check the in-app list.

Small daily allowance and no relight tool

Free accounts claim 3 credits a day, and the tool list has no relight option.

Why people look for a MyEdit alternative

  • You want to step back to an earlier edit, and MyEdit's Edit by Chat page describes no version history.
  • You need PNG or other formats out of the generator, while MyEdit's FAQ says exports are JPG.
  • You want more than two models when you edit by chat, since Edit by Chat offers Nano Banana and Flux.
  • You need tools MyEdit does not list, such as relighting, or more room than 3 free credits a day.

The 5 MyEdit alternatives

Ordered by fit to the reasons above, with an edit history weighted first, then export formats and model choice, then extra tools such as relighting.

1. Pixlr

Best for: MyEdit users who want the same browser and phone editing with a saved edit history

How it differs from MyEdit: Pixlr's Instruct Editor is also a typed-prompt editor, and its page calls it "a conversational AI image editor". Unlike Edit by Chat, it saves up to 10 versions of an edit, and you can click any earlier one to keep editing from it or to download it. Plus costs $2.49 a month billed monthly.

Price: Free version without an account; Plus $2.49 a month billed monthly (as of 2026-10)

Limitation: The history stops at 10 versions, and Pixlr's terms take a royalty-free, worldwide license to AI content you upload or publish on the platform.

2. ImageQuarry

Best for: People who chat through many changes on one image and want to keep each step

How it differs from MyEdit: MyEdit's Edit by Chat applies a typed change, and its page describes no saved versions. In ImageQuarry, you select a version, ask for a change in words, and receive a new version while the older ones stay beside it with their prompts and references. You can branch from any earlier version and choose among four models, Nano Banana 2.1 by default.

Price: Starter $9 a month, Pro $29 a month (as of 2026-10)

Limitation: ImageQuarry only makes and edits still images, so the video, audio, face swap and try on tools MyEdit bundles have no counterpart, and every plan is paid.

3. Picsart

Best for: Editors who want a very wide model menu and PNG or PDF export

How it differs from MyEdit: Picsart's generator lists 65 models, and Ideogram 4.5 inside it offers iterative editing with up to 4 references and an optional mask. Paid plans export as PNG and PDF, and apps cover the web, iOS, Android and Windows.

Price: Free generator with daily limits; Pro $15 a month billed monthly (as of 2026-10)

Limitation: Picsart says usage rights depend on the model and the plan, so you check licensing model by model.

4. Fotor

Best for: People who need transparent PNG or PDF files and many references per image

How it differs from MyEdit: Fotor also edits from a plain-text description and runs models such as Nano Banana, FLUX and GPT Image. It combines up to 8 reference images into one output, and its paid plans export HD JPG, PNG, PDF and transparent PNG, where MyEdit's FAQ names JPG.

Price: Basic free; paid prices load by script on fotor.com/pricing (as of 2026-10)

Limitation: Fotor's current paid prices did not appear in a plain fetch of its pricing page, so confirm the amount before you subscribe.

5. Pincel

Best for: Small businesses that want relighting and repeatable multi-step workflows

How it differs from MyEdit: Pincel's AI Photo Editor changes a photo from a text prompt, and its tool list includes Relight, which MyEdit does not list. Its workflow canvas chains tools such as cut out, new scene, relight and upscale into a pipeline that can run once per row of a list.

Price: 20 free credits; Creator $19 a month, monthly billing (as of 2026-10)

Limitation: The editor page mentions an Iteration Mode but does not describe a stored version history, and no model names are given.

Who should stay with MyEdit

  • You use MyEdit for photos, video and audio together, and one CyberLink account covering all three matters more than any single image feature.
  • Your edits are short and one-off, so Edit by Chat with its smart brush does the job without needing a history.
  • You make marketing and client images and value MyEdit's plain statement that generations are yours to use and download without a watermark.
  • Business Pro's 1,000 monthly credits at $10 a month billed annually already cover your volume.

How to try an alternative alongside MyEdit

  1. Download the MyEdit results you want to keep working on; the generator FAQ says they export as JPG.
  2. Keep the original photos you uploaded to Edit by Chat, since an alternative will start from the source rather than MyEdit's edited copy.
  3. Write down the chat requests that worked, in plain sentences, so you can paste the same wording into the new tool.
  4. Repeat two or three of those edits in the alternative and compare the results with your MyEdit versions side by side.
  5. Keep MyEdit for video, audio and face swap work while the new tool handles the image edits you want a history for.

Does not carry over: MyEdit credits, smart brush selections and premium templates stay in your CyberLink account; only downloaded images move.

MyEdit alternatives: questions

Is there a free alternative to MyEdit?

Pixlr has a free version you can use without an account, Picsart's generator gives limited generations each day, Fotor has a Basic plan, and Pincel gives new users 20 credits, as of October 2026. MyEdit itself lets free accounts claim 3 credits a day. Every ImageQuarry plan is paid.

Which MyEdit alternative keeps an edit history?

Pixlr keeps up to 10 Instruct Editor versions in a history stack, and any of them can be picked up again. MyEdit's Edit by Chat page does not describe one. In ImageQuarry, each requested change becomes a new version, earlier versions stay, and you can branch from any of them.

Can I download PNG files instead of JPG?

MyEdit's generator FAQ says exports are JPG. Fotor's paid plans list HD PNG, PDF and transparent PNG, and Picsart's paid plans export PNG and PDF.

How much does MyEdit cost compared with Pixlr?

MyEdit Business Pro is $15 a month month to month, or $10 a month billed annually. Pixlr Plus is $2.49 a month billed monthly and Pixlr Premium $9.99 a month billed monthly. Each counts AI use in its own credits, so compare by the edits you actually make.

Is MyEdit made by CyberLink?

Yes. MyEdit's pages carry the footer "© 2026 CyberLink Corp.", and the site offers photo, video and audio tools in the browser.

How does ImageQuarry compare with MyEdit?

MyEdit is a broad suite in which Edit by Chat is one tool among many. ImageQuarry does the image part only: describe or upload an image, ask for changes in words, keep each version, and add references to guide the result.

Create an image. Edit it with words. Keep refining.

Chat your way through edits and keep every step

Upload a photo or describe one, ask for each change in words, and come back to any earlier version from your project.
