Question
What is branching in AI image editing?
Branching means continuing from an earlier version of an image instead of the latest one, so one image can lead to several separate lines of edits. Each line keeps its own history, and the original sequence stays intact.
An example: version 2 has the right lighting. Version 3 changed the background and you are not sure about it. Branching lets you make a new version from version 2 with a different background while version 3 stays available, so you compare two directions instead of committing to one.
Branching is what makes trying an idea low risk. Without it, every experiment either overwrites the image you liked or forces you to recreate it.
ImageQuarry supports branching from earlier versions, and the results sit with the rest of the project's versions for comparison.
