Question
Can I start a new image from one I made earlier?
Yes. An image you made earlier can be the starting point for a new one, because current image models accept an existing image as input. Describe what should change, or use the image as a reference to carry its style, color or light into a new image.
There are two ways to reuse an old image. As a source, it is the image being edited, and the new result keeps its layout while changing what you describe. As a reference, it guides a new image without being edited itself. See What is the difference between a source image and a reference image?.
OpenAI's prompting guide describes the basic loop: use an output as the next input, request one change, and repeat what to preserve. Google's Gemini image models also accept images as input for editing.
In ImageQuarry, earlier images stay in your library, and you can branch from an earlier version or add an image as a source or reference.
