Question

Can AI remove an object from a photo?

Yes. Ask for the object to be removed, such as "remove the cup on the table", and the model fills the space with what plausibly belongs behind it. Small, separate objects are the easiest; objects that overlap the main subject are harder to remove cleanly.

Google lists removing elements among the edits its Gemini image models make from a text instruction, and Photoshop's Generative Fill removes content from a selected area.

Name the object precisely when there are several similar ones, for example "the left of the two chairs".

Look at the filled area at full size. Repeated patterns, text on walls and reflections can come back slightly wrong.

In ImageQuarry you ask for the removal in words, and the edited image becomes a new version next to the one you started from.
