Question

Can AI generate images in a specific art style?

Yes. Naming a style, medium or technique, such as watercolor, flat vector illustration or grainy film photograph, changes the look of the image. A reference image that shows the style is often more precise than words, and Google's Gemini image API accepts images as style references.

Describe the qualities of the style, not only its name: line weight, palette, texture, lighting. Google's guidance says being specific about visual detail gives more consistent results.

Be careful with specific artworks, living artists and trademarked characters. Imitating a general style is common, while copying a particular work raises rights questions. See Can I use AI images commercially?.

In ImageQuarry you can add a reference image to show the style, then ask for changes in words; each result is a new version you can compare.
