Question
Can AI change the clothes in a photo?
Yes. You can ask for a different garment, color, fabric or pattern, and the model redraws the clothing while trying to keep the person, pose and background. Say what should stay, such as the face and hands, because clothing edits can spill into nearby areas.
A fabric or garment reference gives a more precise result than a description alone. The ImageQuarry homepage shows this kind of request: "Use this texture on the jacket. Keep the face, hands, crop, and background." Review the new version to see how closely it followed the request.
Check folds, seams and the places where the garment meets skin. Those areas show errors first.
Only edit photos of people with their permission, and never use an edit to misrepresent someone. See Can I use AI to edit a photo of a real person?.
