Question

Can a reference image keep a product accurate?

It helps a lot, but it does not guarantee accuracy. A clear product reference keeps shape, color and materials much closer than a text description, yet labels, small text and logos are redrawn and can change. Check every product image against the real product before you use it.

Use a sharp, front-facing product photo on a plain background, and say what must not change: "keep the bottle shape, cap and label". Several clear angles of the same product give the model more to hold on to than a single shot.

OpenAI lists limits with precise text placement and layout-sensitive compositions, which is where packaging sits. For listings and ads, fix label text in your design tool or retake the shot if the redraw is wrong.

In ImageQuarry you can upload the product photo as the source or add it as a reference, describe the new scene, and compare each version with the original before you download it.
