Photoroom is a product photography tool for e-commerce, with written edits through Edit with AI, background tools that do not use credits on paid plans, and a Shopify app. Picsart is a broad photo and video editor whose AI image generator offers 65 models, reference images and output up to 8K, with a free tier that allows limited generations each day. Choose Photoroom for a product catalog workflow, and Picsart for picking among many models and styles across varied creative work.

Photoroom and Picsart: the differences that matter
Breadth of models
Picsart lists 65 image models in its generator, from GPT Image and Nano Banana models to Flux 3 Image, Ideogram 4.5 and Seedream 5.0 Pro, and Ultra opens 200+ video, image and audio models. Photoroom's generator page does not name a model.
A routine for catalog edits
Photoroom keeps Background Remover, Retouch, AI Shadows, AI Fill and AI Expand outside the credit count on every paid plan, which suits repeated catalog edits. Picsart sells fixed monthly credits and bulk editing of up to 50 images on Pro.
Changing one area
Picsart says its Ideogram 4.5 Precise Edit lets you "change one area and keep the rest of the image pixel-intact". Photoroom's Edit with AI works from a written instruction on the product photo, and its AI Fill covers selected areas.
Collaboration today
Photoroom lists Spaces, shared designs and up to 50 seats on paid plans. Picsart lists real-time collaboration and shareable links as "coming soon".
Usage rights
Picsart says usage rights depend on the specific AI model and your plan, and asks you to check each model's licensing in the platform. The Photoroom pricing page we read does not state usage terms.

Photoroom builds tools for selling products online. On its paid plans, core edits such as Background Remover, Retouch and Image Enhancer do not use credits, while AI Backgrounds Studio, AI Fashion Models, the Video Generator and Edit with AI do. Pro includes 8,000 AI credits and 1,000 exports a month, and the pricing page says Edit with AI can reach up to 400 generations on Pro if all credits go there. As of October 2026, Pro costs US$12.99 billed monthly. Seats, a Brand Kit and a Shopify app are available.
Picsart
Picsart is a photo and video editor with an AI image generator that offers 65 models and lets you upload an image to edit or a reference to guide the result. It lists 48 style filters, 100 presets and output up to 8K. Its free generator allows limited generations per day. As of October 2026, Pro is $15 a month or $10.5 a month billed yearly, and Ultra is $75 a month per seat or $60 billed yearly. It runs on the web, iOS, Android and Windows, with a CLI and MCP.
