ImageQuarry vs Photo AI: a general image workspace or an AI photographer for you
Photo AI is built around photos of people: you upload 5 to 15 photos of yourself, it trains a personal model, and you then take photos of that person, with Magic Edit for typed changes and extras such as relighting, try-on and video. ImageQuarry is general purpose: you describe any image or upload one, then ask for changes in words, with every version kept so you can branch and compare. Choose Photo AI if the subject is you or a persona you want to reuse. Choose ImageQuarry for product, campaign, interior or concept images you refine step by step.
We make ImageQuarry. We compared it with Photo AI using Photo AI's own public pages, checked October 20, 2026, and say where Photo AI does more.

ImageQuarry and Photo AI: the differences that matter
Your face or any subject
Photo AI starts from a model trained on 5 to 15 photos of one person, which keeps that person recognizable across many photos. ImageQuarry has no personal model step: you describe the image or upload a source, and the subject can be a product, a room, a poster or a person.
A gallery of shots or a trail of versions
Photo AI keeps photos in a gallery and opens Magic Edit from any image; its pages do not describe version history or branching. ImageQuarry keeps each change as a new version next to the prompt and references that produced it, and lets you branch from any earlier version.
Photo tools built for people
Photo AI lists relighting, zoom out, combining photos, a magic upscaler and clothing try-on for Shopify on its Max plan, plus video with sound. Those are ready-made tools for portrait and fashion work that ImageQuarry does not list.
Commercial use on the page
Photo AI states that Pro, Max and Ultra include a commercial use license and that Starter is for personal use only. ImageQuarry has not published rights terms yet, so check them before client work.
What the plans cost
Photo AI bills Starter at $19 a month and Pro at $49 a month on monthly billing, with annual options from $99 a year, as of October 2026. ImageQuarry has two monthly plans: Starter at $9 per month with 100 image credits a month, and Pro at $29 per month with 300 image credits a month.

About each product
ImageQuarry
ImageQuarry is a conversational AI image workspace. You describe an image or upload one, then ask for specific changes in words, such as new lighting, a different background or an added object. Each change makes a new version and earlier versions are kept, so you can make variations, branch from any version, add reference images and organize the work in projects and a library. You can choose between four image models: Nano Banana 2.1 (the default), Nano Banana Pro, GPT Image 2.5 Flare and GPT Image 2.5 Sunburst. Plans: Starter at $9 per month with 100 image credits a month, and Pro at $29 per month with 300 image credits a month, with optional metered overage that is off unless you turn it on. Every plan is paid. ImageQuarry has not published output specifications or rights terms yet, and it is not a headshot or background removal tool.
Photo AI
Photo AI, formerly Avatar AI, describes itself as an AI photographer for photos featuring yourself as an AI model. You upload 5 to 15 photos, it trains a personal model, and you generate photos of that person or of a synthetic persona. Magic Edit changes a photo from typed instructions, and the Max plan adds relighting, zoom out, combining photos, an upscaler and try-on for Shopify. It also makes videos. Plans run from Starter at $19 a month to Ultra at $199 a month on monthly billing, with commercial use on Pro and above. Photo AI says its iOS app has been retired, so it is used on the web.

- You need a published commercial use license today (Pro and above)
How to try both on the same image
- Pick one job, for example a portrait for a profile page or a product shot for a launch post
- In Photo AI, train a model from your own photos and generate the portrait, then try Magic Edit on one result
- In ImageQuarry, describe the scene or upload a source photo, then ask for one change at a time and compare the versions
- Keep whichever result fits the job, and note which workflow you would repeat next week
