ImageQuarry vs Magnific: a many-model creative platform or a focused image workspace

Magnific is the new name of Freepik: same company, same team, same platform, now at magnific.com. It offers many image, video, audio and 3D models, an image editor, an upscaler that goes up to 10K, a node-based Spaces canvas for branching and comparing versions, and a stock library of over 250 million assets. Its Premium plan is $14.50 a month billed annually, as of October 2026. ImageQuarry is a narrower workspace for creating and editing images in words, with four models and every version kept. Choose Magnific for breadth across media and stock. Choose ImageQuarry for a simpler conversation around one image at a time.

ImageQuarry and Magnific: the differences that matter

Freepik became Magnific

Magnific's own FAQ says Freepik is now Magnific, the same legal entity with a new name and visual identity, and that Freepik accounts, subscriptions, projects and history carry over. freepik.com now redirects to magnific.com, while the original magnific.ai upscaler continues as a legacy service.

Breadth of models and media

Magnific lists many image models on its pricing page, from its own Magnific One to Nano Banana 2, Flux.2 and Recraft V4.1, alongside video, audio and 3D tools. ImageQuarry offers four image models by name and keeps the work to still images.

Two ways to branch

Magnific's Spaces is an infinite node-based canvas where you branch ideas, compare versions and work with a team, and Projects organize assets and workflows. In ImageQuarry, branches grow out of the conversation: each written change makes a new version, and any earlier version can start a new path.

Upscaling and stock

Magnific says it can upscale images up to 10K and offers a stock library of over 250 million assets, with 10 stock downloads a day on its free plan.

Commercial license on paid plans

Magnific's Premium and Premium+ plans include a Commercial AI license, and its enterprise page offers legal protection for AI content used commercially. ImageQuarry has not published rights terms yet.

Credits and plans

Magnific's Premium is $14.50 a month billed annually with 240K credits a year, and a Nano Banana 2 picture at 2K costs 75 credits on its price list, as of October 2026. ImageQuarry plans are monthly: Starter at $9 per month with 100 image credits a month, or Pro at $29 per month with 300 image credits a month. Credits are defined differently by each vendor, so compare what you would make, not credit counts.

About each product

ImageQuarry

ImageQuarry is a conversational AI image workspace. You describe an image or upload one, then ask for specific changes in words, such as new lighting, a different background or an added object. Each change makes a new version and earlier versions are kept, so you can make variations, branch from any version, add reference images and organize the work in projects and a library. You can choose between four image models: Nano Banana 2.1 (the default), Nano Banana Pro, GPT Image 2.5 Flare and GPT Image 2.5 Sunburst. Plans: Starter at $9 per month with 100 image credits a month, and Pro at $29 per month with 300 image credits a month, with optional metered overage that is off unless you turn it on. Every plan is paid. ImageQuarry has not published output specifications or rights terms yet, and it is not a headshot or background removal tool.

Magnific

Magnific, formerly Freepik, describes itself as the creative platform to direct your best work, with every AI model for video, image and audio. Its image menu covers a generator, an image editor, an upscaler up to 10K, an image extender, variations, background removal, relighting and camera changes, and it adds 3D, design tools and a stock library of over 250 million assets. Spaces is a node-based canvas for branching ideas and comparing versions, and Projects organize assets and workflows. Paid plans are shown billed annually, from Premium at $14.50 a month, and include a Commercial AI license. Magnific runs on the web, desktop and mobile apps, an API, MCP and plugins, and says it has over 1 million subscribers.

Which one fits your work

Choose ImageQuarry when

  • You want one conversation per image, with each change kept as a version
  • You prefer four named models over a large catalog
  • You work on still images and do not need video, audio or stock

  • You need upscaling up to 10K or a large stock library
  • You want a published Commercial AI license on your plan
  • You build workflows on a node canvas or through an API

How to try both on the same image

  1. Generate the same scene in both from one description.

  4. Compare which way of branching suits how you think.
