Gencraft alternatives for AI art, custom models and edits
Gencraft is an AI art generator for the web, iPhone, iPad, Mac and Android, with 31 styles, its own Image 2.0 models, Magic Edit inpainting, image to image remix, custom model training and a community feed to remix from. People look elsewhere because its web pricing could not be read and its free allowance is not stated, and because training a custom model needs Pro plus a payment per model. NightCafe fits people who want daily credits and published prices, Leonardo.Ai fits training your own models within a plan, and starryai fits a daily allowance of images without a watermark. ImageQuarry fits people who want to change one image over many rounds by describing each change.
We make ImageQuarry, one of the alternatives below. Gencraft and each alternative were compared on how you start, published prices, training your own model, editing in words, community and platforms, using each vendor's public pages, checked October 20, 2026.

What is Gencraft?
Gencraft calls itself an "AI art generator, AI photos, AI image variations, and editor". Each prompt returns two images, or one 2-second video, in one of 31 styles, with Enhance Prompt and negative prompts available. Magic Edit lets you "adjust entire sections of your creations by applying new, detailed prompts, while keeping the rest of your image intact", after drawing a mask or using Auto-Segment. Pro users can train their own models from 5 to 200 images, and an explore feed lets you remix other people's creations.
Gencraft's typed edits run through Magic Edit's mask or segment step, separate from the generator, which returns two new images per prompt.
Gencraft pricing
Gencraft's web pricing page renders client side and could not be read, so these prices come from its US App Store listing (in-app purchases). No annual plan is listed there. Custom training is an extra purchase on top of Pro. Prices as of October 2026, from gencraft.com. Check the vendor for current pricing.
| Product | Plan | Price | Includes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gencraft | Starter | $7.99 per month (App Store) | Starter Weekly is $3.99 on the same listing |

What Gencraft does well
Every major platform
Gencraft runs on the web, iPhone and iPad, Apple silicon Macs, visionOS and Android.
Masked edits from a new prompt
Magic Edit changes a selected section with a new prompt while keeping the rest of the image, on your creations or your own uploads, with Auto-Segment to pick the area for you.
Remix, variations and references
You can start from an existing image, create variations, keep characters consistent, add a reference image or use a Sketch Guide.
A community to remix from
An explore feed with Most Liked, Trending and Newest filters sits on the Generate page, alongside contests, quests and leaderboards.
Side-by-side results and saved presets
The 2025 web redesign shows both creations side by side and lets you keep generating from the results screen; Pro adds Generation Presets.
Where Gencraft falls short
Web prices could not be read
The pricing page renders client side and could not be read on October 20, 2026; the only readable prices are App Store in-app purchases.
Free allowance not stated
Gencraft says you can create images for free and create a free account, but the free allowance could not be read.
Custom models cost extra on top of Pro
Training is "available to Pro users only, and requires an additional payment per model training", and Pro-only models and presets are restricted too.
Maximum size not stated
Gencraft promises "high-resolution images", but no maximum resolution is stated on the pages read.
Few named models
Its named base models are Image 2.0 Default and Advanced and Hyper-Realism, with other models presented as styles such as Logos, Stickers and ColorBook.
Why people look for a Gencraft alternative
- You want to see prices and a free allowance before signing up, and Gencraft's web pricing and free limits could not be read.
- You want to train models of your own style or face without paying for each model on top of Pro.
- You want to change an image just by describing the change, without the mask or segment step Magic Edit uses.
- You want to pick from widely known model families, and Gencraft names mostly its own Image 2.0 models and styles.
The 5 Gencraft alternatives
Ordered by how many of the reasons above each one answers: published prices and a stated daily allowance first, then model training within a plan, then editing by description, and last a style-led app whose web prices are also unreadable.
1. NightCafe
Best for: Hobbyists who want daily credits, published prices and a community
How it differs from Gencraft: NightCafe publishes its PRO prices, from $7.49 a month for AI Beginner, and gives every user 5 credits a day, with unused fast credits rolling over without expiring. It runs GPT, Nano Banana, Seedream, Flux and Ideogram models, and you can "use prompts to edit your images". Like Gencraft it has a community, with daily challenges and a public feed.
Price: 5 credits a day at no cost; AI Beginner $7.49 a month (as of 2026-10)
Limitation: Its homepage and pricing were read from Wayback captures, the FAQ describes the daily rewards inconsistently, and quarterly and annual amounts are not shown.
2. Leonardo.Ai
Best for: Creators who train several models of their own and want apps and an API
How it differs from Gencraft: Leonardo.Ai's Essential plan at $12 a month includes 10 personal AI models, trained from a small set of typically 10 to 20 images, where Gencraft charges per model on top of Pro. It has a $0 plan with 150 fast tokens a day, models such as FLUX.2 Pro, Ideogram and Nano Banana, and iOS and Android apps.
Price: $0 plan; Essential $12 a month (as of 2026-10)
Limitation: Free plan creations are public, and on that plan Leonardo.Ai holds rights to use what you make.
3. starryai
Best for: Casual creators who want daily images without a watermark and clear ownership
How it differs from Gencraft: starryai states its allowance plainly: up to 25 artworks a day without a watermark, and new accounts get 5 lumens. Its license says you own the copyright to your creations for commercial and non-commercial use, and it stores your art indefinitely, on the web, iOS and Android.
Price: 25 images a day at no cost; monthly and annual subscriptions (as of 2026-10)
Limitation: No model names are given, subscription prices are not listed on the pages read, and edits, video and larger upscales spend Lumens even on Unlimited Pro.
4. ImageQuarry
Best for: Working one image toward a finished result through many described changes
How it differs from Gencraft: Gencraft's Magic Edit asks you to mark the area first, then prompt. In ImageQuarry you select a version and describe the change in a sentence, such as moving the color toward ultramarine and coral, and the result arrives as a new version while the earlier ones stay. You can branch from any version and choose among Nano Banana 2.1, Nano Banana Pro, GPT Image 2.5 Flare and GPT Image 2.5 Sunburst.
Price: Two plans: Starter $9, Pro $29, monthly (as of 2026-10)
Limitation: Every plan is paid and ImageQuarry publishes no output specifications, so it does not replace a style app with a remix community.
5. WOMBO Dream
Best for: Phone users who like picking an art style and refining with a sentence
How it differs from Gencraft: WOMBO Dream is style-led like Gencraft, with 50+ art styles in the app, and its Edit with Text refines an image from a simple instruction, such as changing colors or lighting. It also turns your photos into styled portraits and short videos, on the web, iOS and Android.
Price: Its App Store listing shows Dream Premium at $9.99 a month or $89.99 a year (as of 2026-10)
Limitation: Free exports are watermarked, web prices could not be read, and the Terms link in its App Store listing returned 404.
Who should stay with Gencraft
- You enjoy the community side: remixing from the explore feed, contests, quests and leaderboards.
- You want every Apple device plus Android, including Mac and visionOS, from one account.
- You train a few custom models from 5 to 200 images and the per-model fee is small next to your use.
- You like getting two images for every prompt and continuing straight from the results screen.
How to try an alternative alongside Gencraft
- Download your favorite creations from Gencraft before you change plans, and keep the prompts that produced them.
- Keep the 5 to 200 training images behind any custom model, since another service will need them to train its own.
- Note which of the 31 styles you use most, then look for the closest style or model family in the new tool.
- Repeat one Magic Edit job as a plain sentence in the alternative to see whether you still need to mark an area.
Does not carry over: Custom models trained in Gencraft, Generation Presets and your quest and contest progress stay in Gencraft.
