IMAGE STYLES

Create cyberpunk scenes, neon, rain and all, from a description

Cyberpunk is a science fiction aesthetic of "high tech, low life": dense night cities, neon signs reflected in wet streets, holographic ads, tangled cables, augmented people and a sense of corporate decay. It comes from 1980s fiction and film and lives on in games, album art and posters. In ImageQuarry you describe the street, character or skyline, then ask for focused changes on the version you like, such as more rain, a magenta and teal palette or fewer signs, and each change becomes its own version.

Pick two neon colors, add rain or haze, and decide how crowded the street should be.

How to create a cyberpunk image

  1. 01

Set the scene and the time

Describe place, weather and light: "a narrow cyberpunk alley at night, heavy rain, neon signs in magenta and cyan reflected in puddles, steam from vents". Night and wet surfaces do most of the work.

  2. 02

    Choose the strongest composition

Look for depth: signs layered into the distance, a figure or vehicle giving scale. Start from that version.

  3. 03

    Push or calm the mood

Ask for "more haze between the buildings", "fewer readable signs", or "a lone figure with an umbrella in the foreground". Each request builds on the selected version.

  4. 04

    Compare and download

Compare versions and download the one with the clearest focal point; busy cyberpunk scenes can lose it quickly.

Cyberpunk requests to start from

Example requests; each result is a new version to review.

Rainy street

The classic: neon, rain and reflections.

Character portrait

Augmented characters carry the story.

Skyline

Megastructures and flying traffic give scale.

Interior

Cramped rooms full of screens and cables.

Market stall

Street food and tech side by side.

What defines a cyberpunk image

High tech, low life

Advanced technology sits next to grime and poverty. Mix shiny screens with rust, litter and patched-up machines.

Neon complementary pairs

Magenta with cyan, or orange with teal, are the typical pairs. Two neon colors read more clearly than a rainbow.

Wet surfaces and haze

Rain, puddles, steam and fog multiply the neon light and add depth.

Verticality

Towers, stacked signs and walkways emphasise density. A low camera angle looking up exaggerates it.

Keep refining without restarting

Each request builds on the version you selected instead of starting over, so you can tune the mood step by step.

Pick a different model for a different take

ImageQuarry offers four image models. You can choose a different model when you want a different result for the same request, then compare.

What is the cyberpunk style?

Cyberpunk is a subgenre of science fiction set in technologically advanced but socially broken futures. As a visual style it means dense neon-lit cities at night, rain and haze, holographic advertising and characters enhanced with technology.

It is related to synthwave and vaporwave but darker: synthwave is retro-futuristic and optimistic, vaporwave is ironic and pastel, cyberpunk is gritty and dystopian.

Cyberpunk style questions

Can ImageQuarry generate cyberpunk art?

Yes. Describe the scene and ImageQuarry generates it. Select the version you like and ask for changes such as more rain or a different neon color.

How do I make a photo of my street look cyberpunk?

Upload the photo and describe the cyberpunk change: night, rain, neon signs and holograms. Say what to keep, like the street layout, and review the new version.

The image is too busy. What should I ask for?

Ask to remove signs, reduce text on signs, or add haze in the distance, one change at a time. Earlier versions stay available if you go too far.

Can I try a different color palette and keep this one?

Branch from the version you like and ask for the new palette. The other path stays in place.

Can I match a film or game I like?

Describe the mood in your own words, or add your own photos as references for light and color. Avoid naming protected characters or logos in commercial work.

Can I keep a whole series of scenes together?

Organize them in a project, and finished work settles into named collections that keep their prompts, references and versions.

Create an image. Edit it with words. Keep refining.

Light up your neon city in words

Describe the street, the rain and the signs, then tune the mood version by version.
