Question

Why are AI images blurry?

Usually because the image is too small for where it is shown, it was compressed when saved or shared, or the model left part of the scene soft. Enlarging a small image makes the blur obvious, and busy areas such as hair, text and distant detail blur first.

Check the cause before you fix it. If the whole image is soft, compare its pixel size to the space it fills: a 1024 pixel wide image stretched across a large screen or a print will look blurry everywhere.

If only the download looks worse than what you saw, compression is the likely cause. JPEG and WebP at low quality settings smear fine edges, and some apps recompress images again when you post them. A PNG keeps every pixel, at a larger file size.

If one area is soft, such as a face in the background or small text, the model did not resolve it. Asking for that area to be sharper, or making it larger in the frame, usually helps more than regenerating the whole image.

In ImageQuarry, you can ask for a specific change in plain words, such as "make the label on the bottle sharp and readable", and get a new version to compare with the last one.
