Question
What is metered overage on a subscription?
Metered overage means you pay for each extra unit you use after your plan's included amount is used up, instead of being stopped or moved to a bigger plan. It is billed by measured use, usually per credit.
A plan includes a set amount of usage each month. Without overage, you either wait for the next month or buy more. With metered overage, you keep working and the extra usage is counted and billed.
It is useful when your volume changes from month to month: you stay on the smaller plan in quiet months and pay only for what a busy month adds. Check whether overage is on by default and whether you can set a limit.
Overage pricing exists outside image tools as well. Midjourney, for example, sells extra Fast GPU time at an hourly rate on top of its plans, which works in a similar way but is bought in advance.
In ImageQuarry, optional metered overage lets you keep creating after your monthly credits are used, at $0.12 per extra credit on Starter and $0.09 on Pro. It is off unless you turn it on.
