Question
Is ChatGPT good at editing images?
Yes, for many everyday edits: ChatGPT can change an image you generated or uploaded when you describe the change in chat or select an area first. OpenAI notes that selections are not always precise and edits may extend beyond the selected area.
ChatGPT is built for conversational changes: a new background, different lighting, an added or removed object or a new style, described in plain words. Each edit continues the conversation.
The limits are the ones OpenAI documents for its image models: text can still come out imprecise, recurring characters and brand elements may not stay consistent, and elements can be hard to place precisely in layout-sensitive compositions. OpenAI's prompting guide advises saying "change only X" and listing what to preserve.
ImageQuarry is a workspace: each change makes a new version beside the earlier ones, organized in projects.
