Question
Are AI images good enough for ecommerce listings?
Often yes for lifestyle and scene images, as long as the product is shown accurately. The risk is the product itself: AI can change a shape, color, label or logo. Marketplaces also have their own rules for the main image, such as Amazon's pure white background.
Buyers judge the product from the photos, so an image that changes the product can lead to returns and complaints. Start from a real photo of the product and ask for the scene, light or background to change, then check the product against the original at full size.
Check the marketplace rules for the main image. Amazon staff posts on its seller forums list a pure white background, the product filling about 85 percent of the frame, and more than 1000 pixels on the longest side to allow zoom. Shopify says 2048 x 2048 pixels usually displays best for square product images.
Lifestyle images, secondary angles and seasonal scenes are where AI helps most, because a new setting matters more there than catalog precision.
In ImageQuarry, you can start from your own product photo, describe the scene you want and compare each version with the source before you download it.
