Let's Enhance alternatives for upscaling and fixing photos

Let's Enhance (letsenhance.io) is a web app for AI upscaling and enhancement, headlined "Enhance, enlarge, and fix any image with AI", with upscaling up to 512 MP, a text to image generator and a Chat Editor. People look elsewhere because remaining credits are lost when a membership is cancelled, stored images are kept only 3 or 6 months, and there is no desktop or mobile app. Deep-Image.ai and VanceAI fit web upscaling with longer-lived pay as you go credits, Upscayl and Topaz Photo fit people who want a desktop app, and Claid.ai fits product photos. ImageQuarry is for directing changes to an image in words, not for enlarging it.

We make ImageQuarry, one of the alternatives below. Let's Enhance and each alternative were compared on upscaling and repair, how long credits and files last, desktop or web, editing in words and price, using each vendor's public pages, checked October 20, 2026.

What is Let's Enhance?

Let's Enhance is run by LetsEnhance, Inc. and sells Enhancer, Upscaler and Restorer tools in the browser. The upscaler "increases resolution up to 16x so your photos hit 300 DPI at any size", with Prime, Gentle, Old Photo, Ultra and Strong modes. Around it sit background removal, a Face Enhancer, a Denoiser, a Text Enhancer, image to video and batch editing of 20 images, plus a 2K text to image generator and a Chat Editor that changes an uploaded photo from typed instructions.

Let's Enhance is an enhancer first: its generator and Chat Editor sit beside the upscaler, and its sister product Claid.ai is the one pitched for eCommerce catalogs.

Let's Enhance pricing

Credits: "1 image = 1 credit" for enhancement; a generation costs 2 credits, and each Chat Editor instruction costs 1 credit. Unused credits roll over up to 600 (Starter), 1,800 (Pro) and 3,000 (Max). Business plans and pay as you go bundles are mentioned, but their prices were not in the page text. Prices as of October 2026, from letsenhance.io. Check the vendor for current pricing.

What Let's Enhance does well

Very large upscales for print

The upscaler raises resolution up to 16x for 300 DPI prints, and the Max plan upscales up to 512 megapixels.

Several upscaler modes, including for old photos

Prime is the default, with Gentle and Old Photo modes, and the changelog adds Ultra (January 2025) and Strong (April 2025) upscalers.

A Chat Editor for step by step fixes

Chat Editor "lets you change any part of a photo just by typing what you want", such as "retouch face" and then "change hair color to blond", on a photo you upload.

Commercial use and an API

Its FAQ says images created with LetsEnhance can be used for commercial purposes, and an "API for Business" covers the enhancer, upscaler and text to image.

Unused credits roll over on paid plans

Starter rolls over up to 600 unused credits, Pro up to 1,800 and Max up to 3,000.

Where Let's Enhance falls short

Credits end with the membership

The pricing page says "If you cancel your membership you will lose your remaining credits at the end of the paid period."

Storage is time limited

Images are stored for 3 months on Starter and 6 months on Pro and Max; the free tier's "unlimited storage" also lasts 6 months.

Free results carry a watermark

The free tier's 10 credits upscale only up to 8 megapixels, and results are watermarked until you pay.

Chat Editor output is small

Chat Editor edits come out as a "1MP result", and upscaling that result to high resolution costs another credit.

Web only, with a broad license on generator prompts

No mobile or desktop app is listed. The text to image terms say you own your artworks, but you grant the company and "its other users" a license to generate more images from your text and image cues.

Why people look for a Let's Enhance alternative

  • You upscale in bursts and do not want to lose credits when you pause a membership, which Let's Enhance says happens at the end of the paid period.
  • You want to process photos on your own computer, and Let's Enhance lists no desktop app.
  • You need your enhanced files kept longer than the 3 or 6 months of storage on its plans.
  • You edit by instruction and want more than the 1MP result its Chat Editor returns before an extra upscale.

The 6 Let's Enhance alternatives

Ordered by how well each keeps the upscaling job while answering the reasons above: web upscalers with longer-lasting credits first, then desktop apps, then a product photo tool, and last an image workspace that does not upscale.

1. Deep-Image.ai

Best for: Web upscaling with pay as you go credits that do not expire

How it differs from Let's Enhance: Deep-Image.ai is also a web enhancer, upscaling up to 300 megapixels, but its pay as you go credits "have no expiration date". Its Prompt Based Edit works like a chat with full history, so you can jump back to an earlier iteration and branch off (a history feature that Let's Enhance's Chat Editor post does not describe).

Price: Credits from $0.04 each on subscriptions; named plan prices were not in the page text (as of 2026-10)

Limitation: Named plan prices load by script and were not readable, its plans page gives two different free credit counts (10 and 5), and cancelling a membership loses remaining credits.

2. VanceAI

Best for: People who want the same web toolset plus a Windows app that runs locally

How it differs from Let's Enhance: VanceAI covers the same ground as Let's Enhance (upscaling, sharpening, denoising, restoration and background removal) and adds a Windows desktop app that processes locally with no size limits. Its pay as you go credits are a one-time purchase that stays valid for a year.

Price: 200 credits $20 a month billed monthly; pay as you go from $40 (as of 2026-10)

Limitation: Web uploads are capped at 10MB, 34MP and 8000 px on the longest side, and the desktop app is Windows only.

3. Upscayl

Best for: Anyone with a capable GPU who wants upscaling at no cost on their own machine

How it differs from Let's Enhance: Upscayl's desktop app is open source and runs on Linux, macOS and Windows, upscaling up to 16x with batch processing and nothing to pay. For browser use there is Upscayl Cloud, whose Pro tier upscales up to 256MP and rolls over unused credits, and whose AI Image Editor takes typed instructions.

Price: Desktop at no cost; Upscayl Cloud Pro $24.99 a month for 300 credits (as of 2026-10)

Limitation: The desktop app needs a Vulkan compatible GPU, and cancelling Upscayl Cloud loses your history after 1 month along with unused credits.

4. Topaz Photo

Best for: Photographers who want local rendering and plugins for Lightroom and Photoshop

How it differs from Let's Enhance: Topaz Photo (the successor to Topaz Photo AI) runs on Mac and Windows with unlimited local and cloud image rendering on the Personal plan. It works standalone or as a plugin for Photoshop, Lightroom Classic, Capture One, Apple Photos and Affinity Photo, and exports TIFF and DNG in batches.

Price: Personal $39 a month billed monthly, or $199 a year billed annually (as of 2026-10)

Limitation: It is subscription only, used on one computer at a time, needs a GPU with 6GB of VRAM, and does not support Linux.

Visit Topaz Photo

5. Claid.ai

Best for: Online sellers who want upscaled product photos placed into new scenes

How it differs from Let's Enhance: Claid.ai comes from the same company (its site is copyright Let's Enhance, Inc.) and aims at product and fashion photos. Besides upscaling and light and color fixes, AI Photoshoot places products into editorial scenes, and AI Edit removes, replaces or adds objects from a text prompt.

Price: Essentials $15 a month billed monthly, or $9 a month billed yearly (as of 2026-10)

Limitation: Generation history is kept only 1 month on Essentials and 3 months on Pro, and its FAQ says images generated with Claid are not subject to copyright.

Visit Claid.ai

6. ImageQuarry

Best for: Reworking one photo through many described changes while keeping each step

How it differs from Let's Enhance: Let's Enhance's Chat Editor takes typed instructions one after another on an uploaded photo. ImageQuarry builds the whole workspace around that: each change you describe arrives as a new version, earlier versions stay, and you can branch from any of them to try another direction. Projects and a library keep the versions with the prompts and references that made them.

Price: Starter at $9 a month, Pro at $29 (as of 2026-10)

Limitation: ImageQuarry has no published upscaling or output specifications and no Terms yet, and every plan is paid, so it does not replace an enlarger for print.

Who should stay with Let's Enhance

  • You print large and need upscales up to 512 megapixels, which the Max plan offers.
  • You use the API for Business to enhance images inside your own product.
  • You upscale every month and the rollover of unused credits (up to 600 on Starter) covers your slower months.

How to move your work off Let's Enhance

  1. Download every enhanced image you want to keep before storage runs out: 3 months on Starter, 6 months on Pro and Max.
  2. Free tier results carry a watermark; Let's Enhance says that after paying you can download the same images again without it.
  3. Spend your remaining credits before cancelling, because they are lost at the end of the paid period.
  4. Run a few of your hardest files (an old photo, a small product shot, a scan with text) through the alternative and compare at the size you print.
  5. If you call the Let's Enhance API, check the replacement's API for the same output formats before you switch.

Does not carry over: Your Let's Enhance credit balance and its prompt history in the Image Generator stay with your Let's Enhance account.

Let's Enhance alternatives: questions

Is there a free alternative to Let's Enhance?

Upscayl's desktop app costs nothing and is open source, if you have a Vulkan compatible GPU. VanceAI offers 10 credits to try, and Deep-Image.ai gives free credits with every account (its plans page says 10 in one place and 5 in another). Let's Enhance itself gives 10 credits at sign-up with watermarked results. Every ImageQuarry plan is paid.

Which Let's Enhance alternative keeps credits after I stop paying?

Deep-Image.ai's pay as you go credits have no expiration date, and VanceAI's pay as you go credits stay valid for a year with no subscription. Let's Enhance, Deep-Image.ai subscriptions and Upscayl Cloud all say remaining credits are lost when you cancel.

Is there a desktop app like Let's Enhance?

Upscayl runs on Linux, macOS and Windows, Topaz Photo on Mac and Windows, and VanceAI for PC on Windows with local processing. Let's Enhance lists only its web app and API.

Which alternatives have an upscaling API?

Deep-Image.ai lists an API, a Python client and Zapier and Make integrations, VanceAI sells API plans separately from web credits, Upscayl's docs include an API reference, and Topaz sells an API. Let's Enhance has its own API for Business.

How does ImageQuarry compare with Let's Enhance?

Let's Enhance is built to enlarge and repair photos. ImageQuarry is built for changing what an image shows: you upload a photo or describe one, ask for a change in words, and every result is kept as a version you can go back to, on two plans at $9 and $29 a month.

Create an image. Edit it with words. Keep refining.

Ask for a change, keep the version before it

Upload a photo, describe the change in a sentence, and return to any earlier version whenever a new direction does not work.
