Deep-Image.ai alternatives for enhancing and prompt editing

Deep-Image.ai is an AI image enhancer and upscaler that also generates images and offers Prompt Based Edit, a chat-style editor with full history and branching. Only that editor and the generator overlap with ImageQuarry; enlarging and restoring photos is a separate job. People look elsewhere because Deep-Image's named plan prices are not shown in its pricing page text and processed images are deleted after 40 days. Let's Enhance is the closest swap with published monthly prices, Magnific suits people who want upscaling plus a branching canvas, and Pixlr is the low-cost pick. ImageQuarry fits people who mainly use the chat editor and want their versions kept in projects.

We make ImageQuarry, one of the alternatives below. Deep-Image.ai and each alternative were compared on enhancement and upscaling, editing in words, edit history, how long files are kept, developer access and price, using each vendor's public pages, checked October 20, 2026.

What is Deep-Image.ai?

Deep-Image.ai titles itself an "AI Image Enhancer to Generate & Upscale", and its upscaler raises images to HD, 4K, 5K and up to 300 megapixels. Prompt Based Edit lets you upload up to 3 photos and change them with a text prompt, in what Deep-Image calls "a chat-like experience with full history tracking" where you can jump back to an earlier iteration and branch. The tools menu adds a generator, background removal and replacement, uncrop, inpainting and face swap.

Deep-Image.ai is an enhancement and upscaling service first; its chat editor and generator are the part that does the same job as ImageQuarry.

What Deep-Image.ai does well

Chat editing with history and branches

Deep-Image's August 2025 announcement says Prompt Based Edit keeps full history, so you can jump back to any previous iteration and branch off a new idea.

Very large upscales

The upscaler goes from HD and Quad HD up to 4K, 5K and 300 megapixels, which is the core of the product.

Developer access on every plan

Deep-Image says all plans include an API connection and every website feature is also available through it, with a Python client and Zapier and Make listed in the navigation.

Clear ownership and flexible credits

Its plans page says "You are the only owner of your work and hold all the copyright", and Pay as You Go credits never expire, though they cost a little more than subscription credits.

Two edit modes for different goals

Prompt Based Edit offers High Prompt Fidelity for precise edits and ChatGPT Image for creative, stylized results, and it handles background swaps, object removal, sign text and color changes.

Where Deep-Image.ai falls short

Plan prices are not in the page text

The plans page says a credit can cost as little as $0.04, but the named subscription prices load by script and were not readable in the fetched page.

Files are deleted after 40 days

Deep-Image stores processed images for 40 days, deletes them afterwards, and recommends downloading each one as soon as it is done.

Cancelling ends your subscription credits

If you cancel your membership you lose your remaining credits; only Pay as You Go credits have no expiry.

The free allowance is stated two ways

The same plans page promises 10 free credits with every account in its header and 5 free credits in its FAQ.

Why people look for a Deep-Image.ai alternative

  • You want to see a monthly price before you sign up, and Deep-Image's named plan prices did not appear in its pricing page text.
  • You want your edits to stay available for longer than 40 days without downloading each one straight away.
  • You use credits unevenly and do not want to lose what is left when you cancel a subscription.
  • You want more than two model options in a chat editor, where Prompt Based Edit offers High Prompt Fidelity and ChatGPT Image.

The 5 Deep-Image.ai alternatives

Ordered by how much of Deep-Image's whole job each one keeps (enhancement plus chat editing) while answering the reasons above: readable prices first, then longer storage and a choice of models.

1. Let's Enhance

Best for: Deep-Image users who mainly upscale and want plan prices printed on the page

How it differs from Deep-Image.ai: Let's Enhance does the same core job, enhancing and upscaling to as much as 512 megapixels, and adds a Chat Editor where you type changes such as "add a smile" one step at a time. Unlike Deep-Image, its prices are on the pricing page: Starter is $12 a month billed monthly for 100 credits. It also sells an API for business.

Price: 10 credits on sign up; Starter $12 a month billed monthly (as of 2026-10)

Limitation: Chat Editor results come out at 1 MP before upscaling, storage lasts 3 or 6 months by plan, and remaining credits are lost when you cancel.

2. Magnific

Best for: Creative teams that want big upscales, many models and a branching canvas

How it differs from Deep-Image.ai: Magnific, as captured by the Wayback Machine, upscales to 10K and puts branching and version comparison on Spaces, a node-based canvas, with Projects for assets. Its pricing page lists image models from Magnific One to Nano Banana Pro, Flux.2 and Recraft, where Deep-Image's chat editor offers two modes. It also lists an API, desktop and mobile apps.

Price: Premium at $14.50 a month, billed annually (as of 2026-10)

Limitation: The monthly-billing price was not shown in the fetched page, and much of the product description comes from an archived capture because magnific.com blocked direct reads.

3. Pixlr

Best for: Budget users who want typed edits with a history and a modest upscaler

How it differs from Deep-Image.ai: Pixlr's Instruct Editor keeps a stack of up to 10 versions you can resume from, close to Deep-Image's history navigation, and its generator offers Flux, Stable Diffusion XL and Nano Banana 2. Super Scale upscales to 25 megapixels, well below Deep-Image's 300, and Plus is $2.49 a month billed monthly.

Price: Free version, or Plus at $2.49 monthly (billed monthly) (as of 2026-10)

Limitation: Upscaling stops at 25 megapixels, and the Instruct Editor FAQ promises unlimited editing on Plus while the pricing page gives Plus 80 monthly credits.

4. ImageQuarry

Best for: People who came for the chat editor and want every version kept in a project

How it differs from Deep-Image.ai: Deep-Image's chat editor already tracks history and branches. ImageQuarry builds the whole workspace around that loop: each change you ask for becomes a new version, you can branch from any earlier one, and versions stay in projects and a persistent library with their prompts and references. You can choose among four models, two from Google and two GPT Image models.

Price: Two monthly plans: Starter $9, Pro $29 (paid only) (as of 2026-10)

Limitation: ImageQuarry creates and edits images in words and does not describe enhancing, restoring or enlarging photos, every plan is paid, and it publishes no output specifications or Terms yet.

5. Claid.ai

Best for: Online stores that use Deep-Image for product photos and call it from code

How it differs from Deep-Image.ai: Claid.ai comes from the company behind Let's Enhance and is aimed at product and fashion photos: AI Photoshoot places products in scenes, and AI Edit removes, replaces or adds objects from a text prompt. Pro is $49 a month billed monthly and includes an API key.

Price: 50 trial credits; Essentials $15 a month billed monthly (as of 2026-10)

Limitation: Generation history is kept 24 hours on the trial, 1 month on Essentials and 3 months on Pro, and the API key needs Pro or an API plan.

Who should stay with Deep-Image.ai

  • Upscaling is most of your work and you need outputs up to 300 megapixels, beyond Pixlr or a 1 MP chat edit.
  • You call Deep-Image from code, Zapier or Make, and an API on every plan matters more than a published price.
  • You buy Pay as You Go credits for occasional jobs and like that they never expire.
  • You already rely on Prompt Based Edit's history and branching and only need a few edits a month.

How to move work out of Deep-Image.ai

  1. Download every processed image you want to keep now, since Deep-Image deletes stored images after 40 days.
  2. Spend or note your remaining subscription credits before you cancel, because Deep-Image says they are lost on cancellation; Pay as You Go credits do not expire.
  3. For chat edits, save the final image and the original upload from each Prompt Based Edit thread, and write down the prompts that worked.
  4. If you use the API, list the endpoints and settings your scripts call so you can map them to the new vendor's API before switching.
  5. Run a few of your usual upscales and edits in the alternative and compare them with your Deep-Image results.

Does not carry over: Prompt Based Edit history and its branches live inside Deep-Image; only the images you download move.
