IMAGE STYLES
Create lifelike, photo-style images and check every detail
Photorealistic images aim to look like photographs: believable light and shadow, natural skin and materials, lens behaviour such as depth of field, and nothing that betrays a generator. Getting there is less about the word "photorealistic" and more about describing a real shot, the camera position, the lens, the time of day and the materials, then checking hands, text, reflections and edges carefully. In ImageQuarry you describe the shot, review the version, and ask for specific fixes, each saved as a new version so you can compare honestly.
Describe the shot like a photographer, then inspect hands, text and reflections before you use it.

How to create a photo-style image
- 01
Describe a real photograph
Instead of stacking adjectives, describe the shot: "a candid photo of a barista pouring milk, shot at eye level with a 50mm lens, shallow depth of field, window light from the left, morning". Concrete camera and light words carry realism.
- 02
Pick the most believable version
Look first at light direction and skin or material texture. If they are wrong, no detail fix will rescue the image.
- 03
Fix tell-tale details one by one
Ask for "fix the fingers on the left hand", "remove the text on the mug", or "make the reflection in the window match the room". Each request builds on the selected version.
- 04
Compare at full size
Zoom in and compare versions side by side before you choose and download one.
Photo-style requests to start from
Example requests; each result is a version you review closely.
Lifestyle moment
Candid scenes with natural light read as real.
Product on location
Real surfaces and light make products believable.
Landscape
Atmosphere and scale.
Food close-up
Texture and steam matter.
Interior
Architecture photography conventions.
What makes an image read as a photo
Consistent light
Shadows, highlights and reflections must agree on one light source. Mismatched shadows are the most common giveaway.
Lens behaviour
Real photos show depth of field, perspective from a camera height and sometimes slight grain. Naming a focal length helps.
Hands, text and repeats
Fingers, lettering and repeated objects like teeth or tiles are where generated images most often break. Check them first.
Honest labelling
A lifelike image is still generated. When it represents a real product, place or person, label it and do not pass it off as documentation.
Choose a model per shot
ImageQuarry offers four image models, with Nano Banana 2.1 as the default; you can choose a different model for a different result and compare the versions.
Every fix is a new version
Ask for a specific change on the version you select; each change produces a new version and earlier ones are preserved.
Common giveaways and how to ask for a fix
| Giveaway | What to check | Request wording |
|---|---|---|
| Extra or fused fingers | Count fingers on every hand | "Fix the right hand so it has five natural fingers" |
| Garbled text | Signs, labels, screens | "Remove all text from the signs" |
| Mismatched shadows | Direction and softness | "Make all shadows fall to the right, soft" |
| Plastic skin | Pores and texture | "Natural skin texture with visible pores, less smoothing" |
| Impossible reflections | Windows, mirrors, metal | "Make the window reflection show the room behind" |
| Warped straight lines | Doors, tiles, horizons | "Keep the door frame and floor tiles straight" |
What does photorealistic mean?
Photorealistic describes an image that resembles a photograph closely enough that a viewer could mistake it for one. In image generation it is a target to aim for and verify, not a property you can assume.
Hyperrealism in painting exaggerates detail beyond a photo; documentary photography records real events. A generated photo-style image is neither and should be labelled as generated.
Photo-style image questions
Can ImageQuarry make images that look like photos?
You can describe a photographic shot and ImageQuarry generates it from your description. Review each version closely and ask for fixes where details give it away.
Why do hands and text still look wrong sometimes?
They are hard for image models. Ask for a fix on that version, try variations, and compare until one is clean.
Can I make my own snapshot look more professional?
Upload it and ask for specific changes such as softer light or a cleaner background, saying what to keep. Review the new version against the original.
Can I go back if a fix makes it worse?
Yes. Earlier versions are preserved, and you can branch from any of them to try another fix.
Should I label photo-style images as AI?
Yes, whenever a viewer could take them as real documentation of a product, place or person. It protects trust in your work.
Is this a paid tool?
Yes. Every plan is paid, with Starter and Pro both including monthly image credits.
Create an image. Edit it with words. Keep refining.
