# What is GPT Image?

GPT Image is OpenAI's family of image models for generating new images from text prompts and for editing existing images with instructions. OpenAI's current documentation names two models in the family: GPT Image 2.5 Flare and GPT Image 2.5 Sunburst.

Like other current image models, GPT Image models take both text and images as input. You can describe a new picture, or give an existing one and ask for a change, and keep editing over several turns of a conversation.

ImageQuarry offers GPT Image 2.5 Flare and GPT Image 2.5 Sunburst alongside Nano Banana 2.1, the default, and Nano Banana Pro. You can choose a different model when you want a different result for the same request.
