# Can I switch AI models in the middle of a project?

Yes, in tools that offer more than one model: an image made by one model can be the input for an edit by another, since current models accept images as input. Expect the style and the handling of details to change when you switch.

Switching makes sense when the result is not what you wanted. Each model was trained differently and has its own defaults, so the same instruction can come back with a different style or a different reading of the details.

Keep the earlier versions when you switch. A different model may read the same instruction differently, and the version made before the switch is your comparison point. Restate what must stay the same in your first instruction after switching.

In ImageQuarry you can choose a different model when you want a different result for the same request, and earlier versions stay in the project for comparison.
