# Can I edit an AI-generated image after it is made?

Yes. You can edit an AI image with further instructions in the same tool, or download it and edit it in any photo editor. Editing the image you have is usually better than regenerating, because a new generation starts over and changes everything.

Google recommends multi-turn conversation as the way to iterate on images with its models: you keep the image and ask for the next change.

A downloaded image is an ordinary image file, so you can crop, retouch or add type in your usual editor.

ImageQuarry is built around this: generate an image, select a version, ask for a change, and keep refining, with every version saved.
