# Are AI images sharp enough for print advertising?

Yes, if the file has enough pixels for the printed size and the details hold up close. A full-page magazine ad at about 300 pixels per inch needs roughly 2550 x 3300 pixels, more than many default AI outputs, so plan on a larger output or careful upscaling.

Print shows what a phone hides. Check lettering, logos, faces and product details at 100 percent zoom before you send a file, and order a proof, because ink is less bright than a screen.

Ask the publication or printer for their spec sheet: required pixel size or pixels per inch, bleed, and color format. Many printers ask for CMYK files, which an image editor or the printer can convert.

Large formats viewed from a distance, such as billboards and posters, need fewer pixels per inch than a magazine page, so an image that is too small for a magazine can be fine on a wall.
