# Can AI change the composition of an image?

Yes, within limits. You can ask for a tighter or wider crop, a different angle, the subject moved left or right, or space left for a headline. Large structural changes may redraw much of the image, so details you liked can change.

Cropping to a new shape is the most predictable composition change. Asking for more space around the subject means the model has to invent new areas; see [What is outpainting?](https://www.imagequarry.com/faq/what-is-outpainting/).

OpenAI notes that its image model may have difficulty placing elements precisely in layout-sensitive compositions, so check the position of every element after the edit.

In ImageQuarry a request such as "Put the bottle on folded fabric. Warmer light." creates a new version, and the version you started from is kept.
