# Are uploaded images used to train AI models?

Sometimes. Some AI services may use your content to improve their models unless you turn it off; others say they never train on customer content.

Examples from official pages: OpenAI says that when "Improve the model for everyone" is off, new ChatGPT conversations are not used to train its models. Google says that with Keep Activity off, future Gemini chats are not used to train its AI models unless you send feedback. Adobe says it has never trained Firefly on customer content.

Look for three things: whether training is on by default, how to switch it off and whether the setting covers images as well as text. Also check whether human reviewers may see your content, which is separate from training.

Check whether the defaults for your plan differ from a personal account's, and read the terms for the plan you use.
