AI PORTRAITS
Avatars: a stylized character that still feels like you
An avatar is you, translated into a character: a soft 3D figure, an anime-style portrait, a pixel sprite, a flat vector face. It represents you in games, forums, chat apps and streams, so it has to keep the features people associate with you, like your hair, glasses or smile, while living in a style. In ImageQuarry you start from your photo, choose a style in words, and refine features until the character feels right.
Pick the style first, then keep two or three features that make it yours.

What makes an avatar feel like you
Signature features
Two or three distinctive features carry recognition through any style. Name them in every request.
Style consistency
If you need several poses or expressions, keep them in the same style by building on one version.
Small size
Avatars appear small; simple shapes and strong colors hold up best.
Your own likeness
Make avatars of yourself, or of others with their agreement.
From a selfie
Upload a selfie and describe the character it should become.
Expressions by branch
Branch from your chosen avatar for each expression so the style matches.

What is an AI avatar?
An AI avatar is a stylized character version of a person, created from their photo with an AI image tool in styles such as 3D, anime, pixel or flat illustration.
It is not a photo portrait; an avatar translates your features into a character style.
Avatar questions
Can I keep my glasses and hair in the avatar?
Name them in the request as things to keep, and check them in each version.
Can I make several expressions?
Branch from the avatar you like for each expression and compare them.
Can I use a character I like as a style guide?
Add it as a reference image for style; check that your avatar stays your own character.
Which style is clearest small?
Flat vector and pixel styles usually stay clearest at very small sizes.
Can I fix one feature without redoing it all?
Ask for the fix on the version you selected; each request builds on it.
Where are my avatars kept?
In a project in the persistent library.
