AI IMAGE FIXER
AI image fixer: repair the hands, the lettering or the odd detail without starting over
An AI image fixer repairs the mistakes generated pictures often carry: a sixth finger, a sign that reads as nonsense, a chair leg that melts into the floor. The usual instinct is to regenerate and hope, which throws away everything that was right. In ImageQuarry you bring the flawed picture in, or select the version that has the problem, and ask for one specific fix in words, saying what to leave alone. The fix arrives as a new version and the original is kept. Start by naming the single worst flaw and where it sits.
Fix the one thing that is wrong. Keep the rest of the work.

What an AI image fixer is for
An AI image fixer is a way to correct specific defects in a picture, most often a picture that was itself generated. AI images tend to fail in familiar places: hands and fingers, lettering on signs and labels, small symmetrical things like earrings and eyes, objects that overlap, and background details that dissolve into texture. The rest of the picture can be exactly what you wanted, which is what makes these errors frustrating. Fixing means changing the broken part while asking for the good parts to be left as they are. That is a different move from generating again, where the composition, the light and the expression you liked are all back in play. A good fix is narrow: one defect, one location, one clear description of what correct looks like. You then compare the fixed version with the original and decide whether the repair is worth keeping.
Fixing a flaw is not the same as sharpening a blurry photo or enlarging a small one. Those are enhancement and upscaling jobs, which this page does not cover.
Fix requests for common AI mistakes
Extra or fused fingers
The most familiar defect. Name the hand, the count you want and the grip, so the repair has a target.
Garbled lettering
Signs and labels often read as near-letters. Ask for plain shapes or a blank surface you can letter later.
Objects that merge
A cup handle that grows into the table, a leg that joins another leg. Describe the separation you want.
Mismatched pairs
Earrings, eyes, shoes and cufflinks drift apart. Ask for them to match and say which one is right.
A stray artifact
A smudge, a floating shape or a strange patch in the background. Point to where it is.
How to fix an AI image in ImageQuarry
- 01
Load the flawed image
Upload the picture you want repaired, wherever it came from, or select the version in your project that has the problem.
- 02
Name one flaw and what to keep
Describe the defect, its location and what correct looks like, then list what should be left alone.
- 03
Check the repair, then the next flaw
The fix comes back as a new version while the original is kept. If it worked, move to the next defect from that version.
- 04
Compare and download
Put the repaired version next to the original, confirm nothing important changed, and download the one you choose.
What ImageQuarry offers for fixing
Repairs on any picture
Upload a flawed image from anywhere and describe the change, so you are not limited to images made in the workspace.
Targeted change requests
Ask for a specific change on the version you select: a corrected hand, a cleared sign, a separated object.
Keep instructions
Say what to keep along with what to fix, then review the new version to see how well the rest held.
The original stays
Every fix creates a new version and keeps the earlier one, so a bad repair costs you nothing you had.
Retry from before the mistake
Branch from an earlier version when a chain of fixes has gone wrong, instead of undoing step by step.
How to fix AI image mistakes without making new ones
One flaw per request. Asking for the hand, the sign and the background smudge in one go gives the picture three reasons to change, and the parts you liked are more likely to move. Fix the worst problem first, check it, then take the next one from the repaired version.
Say where and what correct looks like. "Fix the hand" is vague. "The left hand holding the phone should have five fingers, thumb on the near side" gives a target. Location words help a lot: top left, behind the vase, on the second shelf, her right side as you look at her.
List what must survive. Most failed fixes break something nearby, such as a face changing when only the hand was mentioned. Add a short keep list to every fix request: the face, the outfit, the crop, the background. Then check those parts first when the new version arrives.
Handle lettering differently. Getting readable, correctly spelled text inside an image is unreliable in most image tools. The dependable fix is usually to ask for a clean, blank area where the text goes, then add the real words in a layout or design tool where you control the typeface and spelling.
Know when a fix will not save it. If a picture has defects in many places, or the pose itself is impossible, repairs pile up and each one risks the last. At that point, go back to an earlier version that was closer, or regenerate the composition and fix the new one with fewer, smaller requests.
Check at print size if it will be printed. People searching "fix ai images for dtf" usually plan to print on fabric. Printing shows faults a screen hides, and print shops have their own file and size requirements. Ask your printer what they need before you finalize a file.
Three ways to deal with a flawed AI image
| Approach | What happens to the good parts | When it makes sense |
|---|---|---|
| Regenerate from the prompt | Everything is back in play, including what was right | The composition itself is wrong |
| Retouch by hand in a layer editor | Untouched, but repairs take skill and time | One small, exact repair you can paint yourself |
| Ask for a targeted fix | Asked to stay; you review whether they did | A good image with one or two clear defects |
| Go back to an earlier version | Restored to how they were at that point | A chain of fixes went in the wrong direction |
Honest limits of AI fixes
Fixes can touch nearby details
A repair may shift parts you asked to keep. Review each version closely, and ask again with a firmer keep list if needed.
Lettering stays unreliable
Correct spelling inside a generated image is hard to get. Plan to add final text in a design tool.
Not a sharpening or upscaling tool
Making a blurry or small photo crisp and larger is a separate job with separate tools. Check sizes and quality before print.
Several attempts are normal
Some flaws, especially hands, take more than one request. Each attempt is kept, so you can compare and pick the best repair.
Cost of fixing images
Each fix request is paid usage from your monthly plan. Pick Starter at $9 per month with 100 image credits a month or Pro at $29 per month with 300 image credits a month.
| ImageQuarry plan | Price | Includes |
|---|---|---|
| Starter | $9 per month | 100 image credits a month; optional metered overage at $0.12 per extra credit, off unless you turn it on |
| Pro | $29 per month | 300 image credits a month; optional metered overage at $0.09 per extra credit, off unless you turn it on |
Questions about fixing AI images
Is there a free AI image fixer?
ImageQuarry does not offer one: every plan is paid, and the entry plan, Starter, is $9 per month. Every repair request is a generation drawn from your monthly image credits, which is worth knowing when a hand needs three attempts.
Can I fix an AI image with no sign up?
No. ImageQuarry needs an account and a paid plan, started at app.imagequarry.com. The account is also what keeps the original and each repaired version together, so you can compare them.
Can I fix images made in other AI tools?
Yes. Upload the image and describe the change you want, along with what should stay. The picture does not need to have been made in ImageQuarry.
How do I fix AI hands?
Select the version, name the hand by side and position, say how many fingers and what it is holding, and list what to keep, such as the face and clothing. Check the result and ask again if the grip is still wrong; hands often take more than one try.
Can it fix a blurry image?
ImageQuarry is built for changes you describe, not for sharpening or enlarging photos. You can ask for a cleaner version of a detail, but if the problem is softness or small size, a dedicated enhancement or upscaling tool is the right choice.
Does it work online?
Yes. It runs in the browser at app.imagequarry.com. Upload the image, describe the fix, then compare and download the version you choose.
Which model should I use to fix an image?
Start with the default, Nano Banana 2.1. If a fix keeps failing, the same request on Nano Banana Pro, GPT Image 2.5 Flare or GPT Image 2.5 Sunburst gives a different attempt to compare. No model is claimed to fix any defect more reliably than another.
What if I run out of credits mid-fix?
You can turn on optional metered overage to keep working after your monthly credits are used, at $0.12 per extra credit on Starter or $0.09 on Pro. It is off by default.
